Moreover, they both share an oddly macabre fascination with death. Compare, for example, Nixon’s famous 1972 remark to Kissinger about exercising the nuclear option in Vietnam, “I just want you to think big, Henry, for Christ’s sakes,” with Clinton’s remark on the cold-blooded rape and murder of Gaddafi, “We came, we saw, he died!”
At least Nixon might have privately blamed his closest personal friend, Johnny Walker Black.
Below is my column in USA Today on the striking similarities between Richard Nixon and Hillary Clinton, particularly with regard to the staffers surrounding them. Both tended to blame others about being, to paraphrase Nixon, “kicked around.” However, there are deeper and rather disturbing patterns emerging that are shared by the two leaders in my view.
